ASK PUNEET: HOW DOES COCONUT + MINT MOUTHWASH DIFFER FROM TRADITIONAL MOUTHWASH?

Dear Friends,

As you know, GuruNanda Oil Pulling Coconut + Mint Mouthwash is one of my favorite products that we sell. I talk about it so much that it’s only natural that I would get many questions about it!

I’ll answer as many of them as I can in this post below. I hope you enjoy and try this wonderful product for yourself soon!

HOW DOES GURUNANDA OIL PULLING COCONUT + MINT MOUTHWASH DIFFER FROM TRADITIONAL MOUTHWASH?

Traditional mouthwash is made with the base of water, synthetic dyes for color, germicides like alcohol, CPC (also known as Cetyl peridium chloride), and artificial sweeteners like sodium, saccharin, etc. As you can see, these ingredients are hardly natural and can have adverse side effects like dry mouth, canker sores, and even killing the good oral bacteria that your body needs to help digest food.

On the other hand, GuruNanda Coconut + Mint is a pre-brush rinse. It’s oil-based and has added ingredients of oregano, tea tree, clove, peppermint, spearmint, cardamom, and fennel seed essential oils. Added also are vitamins D3, K2, and E. Each of these essential oils has traditional benefits being natural anti-microbial, anti-fungal, natural antibiotic, a natural anesthetic and a natural antiseptic, alongside supporting breath freshening. The vitamins I added ensure bone health and mucosa health. Needless to say, all these ingredients are 100% pure and natural – which I know for a fact because they are GC-MS tested for purity. As such, they support the removal of the bad oral bacteria that cause tooth decay without harming the good.

How does this work? When you use GuruNanda Coconut + Mint pre-brush, you loosen the biofilms that form over your teeth from eating and going about your daily life. These biofilms are the homes of cavity-forming bacteria like streptococcus mutants. The oily lipid base of Coconut + Mint is unique because it pulls the lipid-membraned bacteria away from behind the biofilms, getting rid of cavity-forming bacteria before they can take hold. Eliminating or even reducing these bacteria helps support a healthy, balanced micro-flora oral biome in the mouth, which in turn supports better oral health.

WHY IS ORAL HEALTH IMPORTANT?

If you’ve ever gotten a cavity, you know how painful it can be to eat, drink, or simply go about your day. And no one likes the look of unsightly yellowed or decaying teeth. Beyond this, however, your oral health has consequences for your overall health and wellness. Believe it or not, bad oral health can affect everything from your mood to your health over time. Once bad bacteria from your mouth enter your bloodstream, it can go to your heart and cause disease there, or even your brain. A study has shown that there is a link between bad oral bacteria and the development of Alzheimer’s.

In other words, having a beautiful white smile isn’t just about your vanity.

WHAT ARE OTHER BENEFITS TO COCONUT + MINT MOUTHWASH?

As if good oral wellness wasn’t enough of a benefit, GuruNanda Coconut + Mint has also been proven to freshen your breath and whiten your teeth. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian holistic wellness practice that invented both oil-pulling mouthwash and my other great love, aromatherapy, recommends using this mouthwash once a day, preferably as part of the morning regimen.

However, we conducted a third-party clinical study that proves that 2 minutes of usage of Coconut + Mint every 12 hours can keep breath fresh for 24 hours. We also conducted another third-party clinical study with positive results showing that using Coconut + Mint 2 weeks daily for five minutes a day can result in teeth that are three shades whiter in just two weeks. We are in the process of concluding the 2nd study to further investigate these results.

WHAT IS THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE GURUNANDA OIL PULLING COCONUT + MINT MOUTHWASH? HOW DOES IT CURB BAD BREATH AND BRIGHTEN TEETH?

Coconut oil, alongside the other essential oils in the mouthwash that contain antibacterial properties, targets oral bacteria that produce foul-smelling sulfur compounds, effectively reducing bad breath. The oil-pulling process also removes food particles and plaque, which are breeding grounds for bacteria. This contributes to fresher breath.

Another factor is saponification, which occurs when the fatty acids in coconut oil react with saliva, creating a soap-like substance. This helps in breaking down plaque and removing bacteria from teeth and gums. The process enhances the oil's cleansing and antibacterial effects, contributing to improved oral health.

If you haven’t yet tried GuruNanda Oil Pulling Coconut + Mint Mouthwash, I encourage you to try it today!

Namaste,
