1. Only Use Essential Oils that are 100% Pure and Natural

These synthetic substitutions are not only missing the therapeutic properties of essential oils, but they can also be hazardous as they are chemical concoctions that are not disclosed by companies.

2. Dilute With a Carrier Oil, or Use a Roll-On
As mentioned earlier, essential oils are very concentrated. This means that many essential oils, if not diluted, could cause skin irritation as well as other unpleasantries. There are two primary techniques to dilute essential oil and make it ready to use for children.
- Dilute with Carrier Oil:
One option is to take a 100% pure and natural essential oil and dilute it in a carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil or Sweet Almond Oil. GuruNanda recommends that you dilute it by using 99% carrier oil and just 1% essential oil.
2. Use a Roll-On:

3. Diffuse the Essential Oil

However, when it comes to 100% pure and natural essential oils, we recommend that you diffuse them with caution, with a specific intention, and for a particular period of time. For example, if you want your child to relax and get ready for sleep, try diffusing an essential oil that’s safe for kids for an hour or two.
Since children are still in their early development stages, it’s not recommended that you leave a diffuser on at all times. Avoid using essential oils for children under six months as they have more delicate skin and undeveloped immune systems.
