ASK PUNEET: HOW DOES GURUNANDA GIVE BACK?

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, one of the pillars of GuruNanda is creating an ecosystem of good karma. That’s why we source our essential oils ethically and sustainably through our Global Farm Alliance, which supports education in developing communities. And it’s why we offer you, our cherished customers, the best-quality products at the lowest possible prices.

Still, I am always looking for new ways to make GuruNanda a company that makes the world a better place. As such, I am proud to announce a new GuruNanda philanthropy initiative: providing weekly hot lunch to orphaned children at Manav Mandir Gurukul Orphanage in New Delhi, India.

The story of how GuruNanda came to take on this meaningful project begins with my mother. From an early age, she taught me to care for the less fortunate, not least because she was adopted as a baby. Though my mother was raised in a wonderful family, she has always understood how easily her life could have taken a different course. For this reason, she has a special connection with parentless children.

Several years ago, when I was visiting my mother in New Delhi, both our lives changed forever. Walking down the street, we saw an impoverished homeless boy huddled by the bus stop. We quickly realized that his needs were far greater than food or shelter for the night. He needed a place to learn and grow. People who cared about him, day in and day out.

We also realized that in New Delhi, there are far too many children like him.

At this same time, my mother and I were grieving the death of my father, a successful businessman who also cared deeply about giving back. Seeing this vulnerable young boy at the bus stop lit a spark in my mother. She committed then and there to channeling all her sorrow over my father’s absence into being a loving presence to children who don’t have parents.

For several years now, my mother has been a near-constant presence at Manav Mandir Gurukul Orphanage, sitting with children at mealtimes, helping them with their studies, and taking quiet moments to make each and everyone one of them feel special.

In my mother’s honor, I have arranged for GuruNanda proceeds to support weekly hot meals at the orphanage. It is a small act, but helping provide tasty and nutritious food is a vital way to support the physical and emotional development of growing children.

I am proud to honor not only my mother’s devotion to this worthy cause, but you. As a GuruNanda customer, I know that you share our commitment to improving not just your own wellness, but the wellness of the whole world.

Thank you for inspiring us to do better each and every day. To learn more about Manav Mandir Gurukul Orphanage and how you can provide further support, visit the website here

Puneet
